Hotel rounds off anniversary celebration
Labadi Beach Hotel, one of biggest names in the hospitality business in this country, has rounded off its 25th anniversary celebrations with a cocktail reception that brought together management, staff, and board of directors of the facility and various guests from tourism-related organisations.
Mr. Gideon Aryeequaye, the Acting Executive Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), who represented the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, said at the function that the hotel deserved commendation for being a pacesetter among facilities of its kind.
The GTA Acting Executive Director said he was happy the hotel had progressed to such a high standard that it could compete with any top hotel in any part of the world.
The reception which also brought traditional authorities from the La community, was spiced with a wide array of local and exotic delicacies and live music from the Lion's Heart Band.
Chairman of the hotel’s board of directors, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, said right from inception, the hotel had committed to the provision of excellent services which had set it apart from others.
The General Manager, Mr Michael Rathgeb, attributed the hotel's continued success to effective teamwork by management and staff.
He said the hotel would do everything possible to maintain its status and even raise its standard higher.
Labadi Beach Hotel opened on August 22, 1991. It has 164 luxury rooms, four executive suites and two presidential suites and a lap pool.
Additional facilities include a spa and fitness centre and a banquet hall.
