The Speaker of the National Children’s Parliament, Leticia Nuritang, has called on all stake holders and duty bearers to support children to attain their full potential.
According to her, putting in place policies, strategies and projects to ensure the rights and responsibilities of children are protected will help them during these challenging times.
She made this statement at the commemoration of the African Union Day of the African Child held at the Ministry of Information in Accra.
This year’s celebration also marked the 30th anniversary of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC).
She, made a passionate appeal to children to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 preventive protocols which included washing their hands frequently under running water, keeping a distance of two metres when interacting with others and using alcohol based sanitisers when the hands were not visibly dirty.
