Saltpond Children’s Home gets support
The Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS Wildlife and Child Rights Club have donated a number of items to the Saltpond Children’s Home.
The items donated included a bag of rice, cooking oil, a carton of soap and GH¢1,700 out of which GH¢1,000 would be used for the refurbishment of the orphanage.
Mr Ashirifi and Mrs Miriam Adjei Amponsem, both patrons of the club, as well as the Presidents of the two clubs, Miss Rebecca Awuah Kyeremah and Miss Ophelia Kontoh, were among the delegation that made the presentation.
This was during an end-of-year get-together organised for the children of the orphanage. It was on the theme: “Touching the lives of little children”.

The Proprietress of the orphanage, Miss Grace Barnes, encouraged members to continue to help the needy and create awareness of the orphanage for other organisations to come to its aid.
She further advised the workers and all present at the event to continue sharing the vision of the orphanage.
The orphanage was founded by Dr Rev. Otoo and Mrs Mercy Otoo of the Solid Rock Foundation, in California, USA.
There were cultural performances by some members of the club during the programme.
