Nine JHSs support Ghana Heart Foundation

Students of nine junior high schools (JHSs) from Circuit 27 of the Okaikoi South Sub Metro of the Ghana Education Service (GES) have presented cash totalling GH¢1,027 to the Ghana Heart Foundation.

The donation is to support the programmes and activities of the foundation.

The students are from the Kaneshie Awudome ‘3’ JHS, Kaneshie Awudome ‘1’ JHS, Kaneshie ‘2’ JHS, Rev. Thomas Clegg JHS, Kaneshie ‘1’ JHS, Kaneshie ‘3’ JHS, Kaneshie ‘1’ JHS and the Kaneshie ‘4’ Primary School.

Miss Anastasia Wellington of the Kaneshie Awudome ‘3’ JHS, who presented the money on behalf of the students, said there were some children in society who needed surgery to correct various heart related problems whose parents could not afford it and that was why they had come together to support such persons.

She said the students made personal contributions to be able to raise the amount to support the unfortunate in society.

“We would like to use this medium to appeal to philanthropists, corporate bodies and well-meaning Ghanaians to donate generously to the foundation,” she said.

Miss Wellington expressed the hope that the money would help to ease the plight of those with heart-related problems.

The Coordinator of the Ghana Heart Foundation, Mr Derrick Kwesi Nartey, who received the money, thanked the students and assured them that the funds would be used for the intended purpose.
