East Airport, Grace Preparatory schools win football gala
The East Airport International and Grace Preparatory schools emerged winners of the fifth edition of the Lizzy Sports Complex Private Schools Football Gala.
While the East Airport International School won the Under-12 Category, the Grace Preparatory School took the Under-16 trophy.
The one-day event was to unearth talents among children between eight and 16 years from private primary and junior high schools.
The schools that participated in the competition included Christ The King International School, Grace Preparatory School, St Albans, Las Liberty, Al-Ryaan and Jack & Jill School.
The Chief Executive Officer of Decathlon Ghana, Mr Kwesi Tabiri, expressed delight at the level of participation in the competition, reiterating his company’s desire to partner more sporting events across the country.
“We at Decathlon saw the importance of our young kids and football as a sport, so we decided to join Lizzy Sports to organise the contest to help unearth talents,” he stated.
According to him, the company appreciates how passionate Ghanaians are about football, especially for children, so “we decided to join in to organise this wonderful event.
“We hope we thrive and continue to support many social events such as this.”
Master Francis Masope from the East Airport International School was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the competition.
All prizes, except the trophies, were Decathlon products and brands.
