Christ Royal School promotes Ghanaian culture
The Christ Royal School in Accra celebrated its Easter festivities on the theme: “The Rich Ghanaian Culture.”
The celebration was marked with performances by the schoolchildren in some of the local languages.
Performances by the pupils and students included singing, dancing, poetry recitals and drama.
The Headmaster of the school, Mr Edjare Wiafe, said: “Celebrating the culture of our homeland will make the country respected and loved by children.”
Ms Cecilia Asamoah, a Home Economics teacher, added that “our culture is beautiful and we should not forgo it and adopt another.”
She encouraged parents to teach their children about the Ghanaian culture by taking them to their respective hometowns to enable them to learn more about their roots.
Ms Asamoah advised parents to communicate with their children in the various Ghanaian languages because some children could not speak their languages properly and that was not the best.
