
Indonesia congratulates Ghana on 68th Independence Anniversary, pledges stronger bilateral ties
The Government and people of Indonesia have extended warm congratulations to Ghana on the occasion of its 68th Independence Day, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
In a message of goodwill, H.E. Paskal A.B. Rois, Honorary Consul of Indonesia to Ghana, expressed admiration for Ghana’s resilience, growth, and national pride over the years. He noted that this year’s theme—“Reflect, Review, and Reset”—resonates deeply with Indonesia’s values of development, unity, and sustainability.
“As Ghana commemorates this remarkable milestone, we reflect on the nation’s enduring journey of growth, resilience, and national pride. The theme for this year’s Independence Day—‘Reflect, Review, and Reset’—perfectly encapsulates Ghana’s commitment to introspection and progress, a vision that resonates strongly with Indonesia's values of development, unity, and long-term sustainability,” he stated.
Commitment to strengthening economic and cultural partnerships
H.E. Rois underscored Indonesia’s dedication to fostering collaboration with Ghana across various key sectors, including agriculture, trade, education, infrastructure, and tourism. He pledged Indonesia’s full support in helping Ghana realise the objectives of this year’s Independence Day theme, adding that both nations have much to gain from deeper cooperation.

“Indonesia stands in total agreement with this powerful theme and fully supports Ghana’s ambitions to reflect on past achievements, review its current trajectory, and reset its path towards a prosperous and sustainable future. We believe that through collaboration, we can help Ghana achieve its developmental goals while fostering a deeper bilateral relationship between our nations,” he noted.
Key areas of cooperation
The Honorary Consul outlined five priority areas for Indonesia-Ghana collaboration. He highlighted Indonesia’s expertise in agriculture and agribusiness, stressing the country’s willingness to support Ghana with modern farming techniques, sustainable practices, and advanced equipment to enhance food security and economic growth.
He also reaffirmed Indonesia’s interest in trade and investment, stating that his country is committed to boosting economic ties by supporting Ghana’s industrialisation agenda and attracting investments in manufacturing, infrastructure, and services.
In the area of education and capacity building, Indonesia pledged continued support through scholarships, training programmes, and skills development initiatives for Ghanaian youth. “By focusing on skill development and leadership training, we will empower the next generation of Ghanaians to lead the nation towards greater innovation and development,” H.E. Rois said.
On infrastructure development, he assured Ghana of Indonesia’s readiness to assist in large-scale projects such as transportation, energy, and urban planning, which are essential for sustainable economic growth.
Additionally, he emphasised the importance of tourism and cultural exchange, stating that increased people-to-people engagement through arts and heritage will foster mutual understanding and strengthen diplomatic ties.
