• Volcano eruption kills several in Indonesia

    A volcano erupted several times overnight on the eastern Indonesian island of Flores. Officials said that rescue teams were still searching for victims under the rubble of collapsed homes.

    At least six people died after a volcano erupted several times in eastern Indonesia, officials said.

    The eruptions occurred at Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki which is located on the island of Flores.

    The celebration, on the theme: “Strengthening bonds and embracing our shared heritage” brought together people from all the 36 Anlo communities and chiefs from other parts of the country and neighbouring Togo.

    It was a colourful durbar as citizens, both home and abroad, actively participated in activities to mark the week-long celebration.

  • Adabraka robbery getaway vehicle tracked to Ashaiman

    The vehicle involved in Saturday's Adabraka robbery incident has been identified and tracked to Ashaiman in Greater Accra.

    Images of the Toyota Highlander, with registration number GN 7357-19, leaving the crime scene at Adabraka in Accra and tracked to Ashaiman have been released unto social media by the security agencies.

    The vehicle's route reportedly included stops at the Sunny FM Roundabout, Shiashie, Accra Mall, and Accra Mall Roundabout, before heading through Ashaiman Zenu.

  • Accident claims eight lives on Sunyani-Berekum road

    Eight persons, including mourners died on Saturday in an accident onthe Sunyani-Berekum highway last Saturday.

    A total of 10 people were involved in the accident.

    The deceased were made up of five males and three females.

  • Gas tanker accident at Gbawe: Fire service controls leakage situation

    A gas tanker was involved in an accident at the Gbawe top base in Greater Accra on Sunday morning and led to leakage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which was in the tanker.

    The tanker after the accident fell on its side.

    When a rescue attempt was made with a bulldozer to put it back on its wheels, the tank was punctured and started leaking gas.

    Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were called in to control the situation bycooling with foam concentrate to prevent any fire explosion or casualty.
