Establish independent emoluments committee now!

On February 20, 2025, the President in a meeting with the National Tripartite Committee (NTC), proposed the establishment of an Independent Emoluments Committee. 

This committee will be crucial for reviewing and recommending salaries, allowances and benefits for government workers.

This committee must be set up without delay, commence work immediately and have its recommendations reviewed and implemented promptly.

The urgency of this matter cannot be overstated.

The committee's work must be infused into the 2026 Budget, to ensure a more transparent and equitable compensation system for government workers, including the President himself.

The President's assurance demonstrates a commitment to fair compensation and transparency.

However, swift action is necessary. We must expedite the establishment of the Independent Emoluments Committee.

The clock is ticking, and timely action will be instrumental.
