Zorzoh poised for good show
His real name is Yaw Boateng but everyone calls him Zorzoh.
After working hard to come to national attention in New Zealand where he has been based for over 10 years, the Ghanaian-born musician is poised to give a good account of himself to music lovers at home on Saturday, August 10 at the Alliance Francaise in Accra.
The Afro-beat and highlife exponent was in town around Christmas last year and he played a number of concerts alongside the famous Ramblers band.
He is around again with his band to show how the influences from greats like Hugh Masekela, Fela Anikulapo Kuti and local highlife stalwarts have shaped his sound.
Saturday’s concert is themed ‘Gold Coast Sickness.’ Germany-based African-American storyteller, Bernadette ‘Oma Be’ Williams is also expected to wow the audience with some inspiring stories.
