MTN powers another gospel show
Soon after the extremely exciting MTN Ghana Stands In Worship concert at the Accra Sports Stadium, telecommunications giant has sponsored another successful gospel music event, Highest Praise, at the National Theatre.
An annual concert organised by the Harbour City Mass Choir, Highest Praise, aims to bring worshippers together to praise God and raise money for a specific community project. This year’s programme came off last Sunday, August 4.
There was joy in the air as the Harbour City Mass Choir took to the stage with their own songs as well as re-worked popular local and foreign pieces. Well-choreographed movements accompanied the songs.
Hands were lifted in praise and worship as the choir dished out one sweet song after another.
Other artistes who graced the occasion included Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Eugene Zutah and Glenn Barnes, a member of the choir set to release his debut album soon.
The Harbour City Mass Choir was founded by Nii Okai 14 years ago in Tema. Its main aim is to spread the gospel through music, campus ministrations and outreach programmes.
Theme for this year’s concert was ‘Love’ (Col.3:14). As part of the group’s corporate social responsibility, a big chunk of the proceeds from the concert will be used for a borehole project in a yet to be mentioned deprived community in Ghana.
This borehole project is in partnership with the Meaningful Life International (MLI) outfit led by Rev. Godwin Ahlijah.
“We have planned to sponsor more concerts before the year runs out and the public should watch out for them,” an MTN official said at the end of the Highest Praise concert.
