The play explores abuse in relationships.

‘That Night I Found Love’ wows Legon audience

After setting the pace with her Perfect Man and ATM plays, writer/director Anita Oduro stunned audience last weekend at the Efua Sutherland Drama Studio at the University of Ghana, Legon with her latest production, That Night I Found Love.

The tragic, romance-laced story which hinged on maltreatment in relationships, told the story of a man who abused his partner at the least opportunity because of her unfortunate disability. As if the abuse wasn't enough, he was cheating on her with her own best friend!

"I wrote this play to teach women that there's true love out there, no matter how much they've been abused before," Anita revealed. "We shouldn't be content with abusive relationships at all."

Theatre lovers were treated to some good laughter and lessons which made them crave for more.

"I really wish my friend and her fiance were here to see this," one thrilled patron confided.

Dates for That Night I Found Love in Kumasi and other regional capitals will be announced soon.
