Roma sings Dreams and Prayer

As dancehall music continues to dominate the current music industry, young reggae/dancehall artiste, Roma, is set to start his journey in that genre with the release of a song, Dreams and Prayer next month.

For every young artiste, it’s the dream and expectation to be successful in their endeavours and that “can do” spirit is what Roma champions in Dreams and Prayer.

The dancehall piece urges the youth not to give up in their quest to be successful but to work hard and accomplish such dreams and desires with prayers as well.

In an interview with Showbiz on Monday, the 22-year-old artiste said that as a youth, he has been overwhelmed by the challenges many of his age mates encounter for a “breakthrough”. That was his inspiration to compose Dreams and Prayer.

“Prayer is definitely the key to all problems so while working hard to achieve our dreams, it must be backed with prayers as well,” he added.

Talking about his plans for the year, Roma, who has other songs such as Thank You Mama and Good Bye to his credit, said he is working to release more to get him recognition on the dancehall front.

When asked how he hopes to “breakthrough” in a competitive genre like dancehall dominated by the likes of Samini, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, Roma, real name, Dennis Adjei said, “I’m not in the game to compete with anyone but to do my best.

“ Besides, these big names didn’t begin in a celebrity style, they all started from the scratch and worked their way to the top and that inspires me a lot”, he added.
