Oguaa Fetu Afahye — Potpouri of culture, festivity
Last Saturday marked the climax of the Fetu Afahye of the people of Cape Coast in the Central Region and as usual, it was a medley of pomp and pageantry, culture, traditional display, among others.
It was a delight to see Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Omanhene of Oguaa Traditional Area and his chiefs ride in palanquins in their royal regalia enroute to the Victoria Park for the grand dubar.
That was not all, activities such as the MTN Costume Carnival, display by various Asafo Companies, masqueraders, traditional drumming and dancing, interesting fashion sense among others added to the fun galore.
This year’s festival which was under the theme, ‘Falling Standards of Education in the Cape Coast Metropolis, the Stakeholders Responsiblity’ was graced by President John Mahama, government officials, domestic and foreign tourists.
