Legally beautiful Sandra

Sandra AnkobiahRecently-qualified lawyer Sandra Ankobiah is not likely to put away soon her pet love for fashion and modeling despite her being called to the bar a few weeks ago.

With over two years of hosting Fashion 101 on various TV channels stations across Ghana, Sandra Ankobiah appears ready to combine style and beauty with the challenges of the legal profession.

For now, she is happy that she has made some good impact on the way many Ghanaian celebrities dress. Speaking to Showbiz last Thursday, Sandra said that in the past, many Ghanaian celebrities did not pay too much attention to the clothes they wore or how they wore them but with the introduction of Fashion 101, a lot of the celebrities now dress very well, especially, to events.

“Although I have had threats and bashing from some celebrities for talking about their way of dressing, I have also received very good comments from others for talking about them.

“I am not bragging but I receive several phone calls daily from celebrities asking me to suggest what they should wear to particular programmes because they know I always get it right”, Sandra said.

Sandra said she was very much aware that some people keep monitoring her just to find something wrong with her outfit so they could pay her back in criticism.

“For example, I received some bashing for the dress I wore to last year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards but I took it in good faith and was not discouraged at all because I am very much aware of what fits my body shape and the occasion” Sandra said.

Born in Bekwai in the Ashanti region, Sandra who had the opportunity to act in the movie House of Gold said her show is on a   revamp now but will hit the screen with the third season pretty soon.

On relationships, Sandra said that although she has been linked to a handful of celebrities including Nigerian singer Brymo, she is single and has many men knocking at her door but wants to bid her time.

Sandra who was the first runner-up at  Miss Ghana 2002 and second runner up in Miss ECOWAS, attended Akosombo International School and then continued to the University of Birmingham in the U.K for her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)  and Master of Laws' (LL.M) before coming to the Ghana School of Law. She was also the face for GTP’s (Ghana Textiles) media campaign in the year 2000.

When she is not working, Sandra likes to catch up with her favourite TV shows, watch movies, read, swim or travel.

“One of my goals is to project the best of Africa, and I am proud to be the producer and host of a TV show that projects the different sides to the twenty first century African woman”, Sandra added.
