Kwame Nsiah back to business
New hiphop artiste, Kwame Nsiah, has finally dropped his much anticipated mixtape title, Back to Business.
The seven track piece is a prelude to his Letters To My Peers EP scheduled for release later in the year.
In a chat with Showbiz, Nsiah said, “I’ve been drawn to music from a very young age. I was the kid who always had earphones plugged in so after my A’ Levels, I decided to get a job with a recording studio to help me learn some few techniques in music.”
According to the artiste who draws inspiration from God, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z and Sade, he was fortunate to be introduced to Jayso by a friend and that was the beginning of his journey in music at Skillions Records.
He said as a rapper, he wasn’t good at singing but to be a good artiste, he had to nurture the art to make him versatile.
“After some years with Skillions, I could figure out how to put a song together and gradually, I learnt how to sing as well,” he stated.
He said though some of his label mates like Rumor were putting their skill and talent to use by recording some songs, he wasn’t prepared at the time to let the world have a taste of his talent.
“I usually don’t like to rush things unless I’m sure I can deliver and when I was ready, I featured on Rumors song, Can’t Go Wrong” off his debut Fans Friends and Followers mix tape.
“With the help of Skillions records, I put out a mix-tape, The Application as an independent artiste. Some of the songs got some airplay on YFM and Choice FM and I gained some little attention at the time,” he stated.
With the competitive field that he finds himself, the graduate of the Central University College where he studied Marketing believes with the right management and financial support, he can pull off a successful career.
