Ghana is bigger than any political party — Selassie Selah

After “tasting” secular music as an underground artiste for several years, Selassie Selah bade farewell to 'worldly things' when he released his debut Healing in Jesus Name album in 2013.

But it seems the graduate of the University of Professional Studies Accra is on another mission this time. He has released a song titled, Ghana is bigger than any political party to caution politicians to be protective of Ghana’s peace.

Selassie Selah is partnering the Ghana Youth for Peace, a non-profit organisation to preach tolerance, irrespective of one’s political background. This according to him is the tool for ensuring a peaceful co-existence before and after the elections.

Produced by P.I Beats at Taifa, Ghana is bigger than any political party cautions politicians to avoid utterances that tend to divide the country for their selfish gains. They should rather make the welfare of the country their supreme interest in the pursuit of their political ambitions.

He also urged the youth irrespective of their political backgrounds to appreciate the leaders in authority since that is the only way to ensure sanity in the heat of these ‘political times’.

“Most Ghanaians dread it when the elections are approaching and this fear can only be eliminated when our political parties promote decency in their campaigns. It is time for us to know that Ghana belongs to all and not for the political party leaders.

“It is time the youth tell political flagbearers such as Nana Akufo Addo, Prez John Mahama among others that Ghana is bigger than them. Until we are bold to tell them to their faces, we will live to regret the unfortunate fate of the country when it’s plunged into chaos because of their utterances and intolerance,” the Peace ambassador said.

He finally called on our religious bodies to be “trumpeters” of peace in these political times

Real name, Selassie M.K Anyomitse, he describes himself as a contemporary gospel artiste who admires Cwesi Oteng for his 'revolution' of the gospel scene
