DJ Sleek for Best Campus DJ awards
DJ Sleek of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been nominated in the Best Campus DJ category of the 2016 Ghana DJ Awards.
This was disclosed last Friday when the nomination list of the awards scheme was unveiled at the MJ Grand Hotel in Accra.
Real name Matthew Amu Doku, DJ Sleek will battle it out in that category with DJ Ernie of Accra Polytechnic, DJ Snipes of the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), AD DJ of the University of Ghana Legon YFM and DJ Lord of Ghana Technology University College Live FM.
The Best Campus DJ since its introduction two years ago have been won by two of UCC’s DJs— DJ Fro and DJ Mingle.
In a chat with Graphic Showbiz on Sunday, Mercury Quaye, CEO of Merqury Republic, organisers of the awards said “we decided to introduce the Best Campus category because we saw that a lot of the great DJs we have now all started on campus.
“Thus it only made sense to unearth all those with talents on campus.
“Last year, we did a few campus tours but this time around, we are going to do more. Together with our partners, we will go to every tertiary institution in the country “, he said.
The 2016 Ghana DJ Awards is slated for March 19, 2016 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
