CUC Excellence Awards kicks off

The Central University College (CUC) Excellence Awards 2016 kicked off last Friday night with a nominees announcement party.

The event which saw performances from EL, Nayaw, Charles Graham-Andam and Elijah Lartey attracted both lecturers and students of the university.

Among those who graced the party are Mr. Gilbert Nyavi, a Logistic/Supply Chain lecturer at the Central University College (CUC), Mr. Samuel Forson, CEO of Step Up Entertainment, Mr Dake Sefiamor, SRC President of CUC and Ms. Beatrice Yeboah- Gyimah, SRC Women’s Commissioner, CUC.

 

Speaking at the announcement party, Mr Richard MacWoods Owusu (Hollys) said, “The CUC Excellence Awards aims at honouring people who are doing a lot of great stuff for the university

“There is the need to motivate these people and the awards is one such platform to make them feel appreciated. It is also a way to entice others to emulate these people so they also do great things for CUC”, he added 

According to Mr MacWoods, there are plans to expand the scope of the awards scheme. “As organisers, we are looking at opening up the awards scheme beyond Central University to involve other tertiary institutions in the next five years,” he said.

The awards launch and nominees announcement party was emceed by Brain Hazel and Ghana Tertiary Awards Most Influential Female MC, Fafali Ekey.
