Stonebwoy brings 'Physically'
Two months ago when he released his single, Bhim Nation, popular dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, said at the time that the next work to come from him will be an album. But it looks like he has gone back on his word and has instead released another single, Physically.
Physically, released a month ago together with a video reveals the romantic side of the More Gyal singer. In the song, Stonebwoy raps about how his lady has “touched his heart both physically and spiritually” and would do everything to keep her because of her virtuous qualities.
The video shot by South Africa based Ghanaian director, Steve Gyamfi, in locations in Johannesburg, South Africa, shows Stonebwoy in a car, “scouting” for a lady. Luckily for him, he meets one who fits his “kind of taste” and starts a friendship. He is marvelled by the lady’s qualities and wants to take her home for a wife.
Stonebwoy who has recently resorted to love-themed songs explained to Showbiz last Monday that “many people have this perception about dancehall artistes being “hardcore” but singing about love “softens’ my ghetto nature”.
Speaking on the growth of dancehall music in Ghana, Stonebwoy said he is satisfied with its impact and reception in the Ghanaian music circles remarking, “dancehall artistes are the hottest in GH at the moment”.
Apart from his singles, Bhim Nation, Pull Up, Kwenaamu, Can’t Cool and More Gyal, Stonebwoy disclosed that he has a number of collaborations with artistes of other music genres, which would be released at the launch of his yet to be released second album, Necessary Evil. His debut album, Grade 1 was released in 2012.
Some of the artistes he has collaborated with are Outlawz, a group of the late hip hop icon, Tupac Shakur and Sarkodie. He asked Ghanaians to expect the release of his new song, Baafira, which features Sarkodie on Friday, October 17.
