
Piano Bar hosts Boty’s Guru Guru Project
Constant Boty is a fine guitar player making waves with his band, Guru Guru Project, and they will be the featured act tomorrow, July 30 at the Piano Bar near the GREDA Estate Shell Roundabout at Teshie in Accra.
Boty studied classical and modern guitar styles as well as musicology in Cote d’Ivoire.
His musical influences include Afro-pop stars like Youssou N’dour, Salif Keita, Habib Koite and Ali Farka Toure.
He also loves jazz and European classical stylings.

He created The Guru Guru Project as a trio in late 2010 but it is now a quartet with Steven Arthur (bass), Fred Awuku (drums) and Nana Boakye (piano).
Collectively, their music is a delicate blend of jazz, rock and distinct African elements.
The band’s debut album was released in September last year.
The 8.00pm Piano Bar concert is expected to attract music lovers expectant of hearing one of the outstanding guitar players and hard working bands on the Ghanaian scene at the moment.
