Surfline partners Huawei to roll out nationwide
Surfline Communications has selected Huawei Technologies as the company to help drive its nationwide expansion programme.
The company announced in a release issued in Accra that the move formed part of plans to expand what it described as its “award-winning 4G LTE network to cover all regions in Ghana with Huawei Technologies.”
“After a gruelling evaluation process, Huawei emerged as the winning vendor for expansion due in part to its success as a worldwide market leader on frequency division duplex (FDD),” it said.
The release said the expansion would cover major cities such as Takoradi, Kumasi, Cape Coast, Tamale and Ho, and include all key municipalities within the “data-hungry country.”
It said once completed, Surfline would boast 700 and more cell sites, making it one of the world’s largest independent LTE networks, “an amazing feat for the country’s only telecommunications network that is wholly-owned by Ghanaians.”
Surfline’s successful launch last August offers it the opportunity to raise the bar on both new and existing operators through its commitment to bring international standards to Ghana by introducing sophisticated experiential stores, superior customer service and incomparable data speeds.
Surfline has experienced tremendous growth in its customer base making it a force within the competitive marketplace.
In 2014, Surfline was nominated for “Breakthrough LTE Entrant” at AfricaCom in South Africa and won “Top Emerging Brand” at the Top Brands Awards in Ghana.
