StanChart Ghana CEO appointed to Africa, Middle East Management team

The Standard Chartered Group has appointed Kweku Bedu-Addo, the current Chief Executive Officer of the bank’s business in Ghana to the Africa & Middle East Management team.

Mr Bedu-Addo assumed additional responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer, Standard Chartered Bank West Africa 2 Cluster, comprising Ghana, Sierra Leone and The Gambia on October 1, this year.

He was appointed in 2010 as the first Ghanaian Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank in its 119 years history in Ghana.

He had previously headed the bank’s corporate banking business across West Africa (excluding Nigeria).

Mr Bedu-Addo had also been in charge of a multimillion dollar global project based in Singapore and prior to that was head of the bank’s corporate banking business in Zambia.

He worked in the Policy Division of Ghana’s Finance Ministry in the 1990s.

Mr Bedu-Addo’s appointment to Standard Chartered’s Africa & Middle East Management Team is another first for Ghana, after he joined Standard Chartered in 2000.
