Ghana Re pays GH¢3.68m as dividend to govt
The Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited (Ghana Re)has paid GH¢3.368 million to its shareholder, the government of Ghana, as dividend for the 2015 financial year.
It also paid GH¢17.03 million as corporate taxes for last year, bringing to GH¢21.03 million the total amount the company paid to the state from its 2015 operations.
The Board Chairman of the company, Nana Ansah Sasraku III, made the presentation in Accra, when the company held its annual general meeting.
He said the company would continue to work hard to ensure that its financial results were improved so that payment to the state and the shareholder would increase.

He said in 2015, the company’s gross premiums rose by 20.27 per cent to GH¢125.55 million.
The increment in gross premiums, from the GH¢104.39 million recorded in 2014, was influenced by a corresponding growth in premium incomes from the company’s life and general businesses.
Its 2015 audited financial results showed that while premiums from life businesses grew by 32.25 per cent to GH¢11.17 million in 2015, that of general business rose by 19.21 per cent to GH¢114.38 million.
