
Airtel introduces new smartphone
Airtel Ghana has introduced a new smartphone, Alcatel Pixi III, which is aimed at making smartphones devices and services accessible to every Ghanaian.
The phone comes with exciting offers such as, a free SIM; free 1GB data monthly for 12 months; free Facebook and Internet.org; double data on internet bundles and a one month free Wynk music subscription.
In order for subscribers to enjoy usage and reduce cost, the Alcatel Pixi III Smartphone comes with the latest smartphone specs as well as preinstalled mobile applications (airtelcare, whatsapp, facebook, twitter, wynk, google maps, viber etc) with a four inch screen.
This was revealed by the Director of Data Business at Airtel, Mr John Claude Domilongo Bope, at a short ceremony last week.

He said the smartphone landscape was rapidly changing with high quality smartphones becoming more affordable and accessible.
“At Airtel we continue to make the internet more accessible to our customers by providing the best phones and devices on the smart phone network with services at a price that is accessible for even more of our customers.
“The introduction of this smartphone is an insightful move by the smartphone network to ensure that all demographics can enjoy the smartphone experience without incurring much cost”, he added.
Airtel Ghana is known in the data industry through its introduction of many innovative data services such as, Browse Chaw bundles (100% more data), dual scratch card, which enables consumers to load voice or data, Roll over of data bundles which allows consumers to roll over their unused data before it expires as well as the Phone backup service, which allows customers to back up their contacts and media.
