3 Motivational books to empower youth launched

THREE motivational books that focus on how to identify personal potential, confront challenges and achieve financial independence have been launched in Accra.

The books, titled ‘5Ds of Talent’, ‘The Light in the Dark’, and ‘Side Cheque’, were authored by Ghanaian public speaker and Chief Encouragement Officer (CEO) of Dream Focus International, Daniel Appiah.

‘5Ds of Talent’ directs individuals on how to identify their unique talents and skills to maximise their potential.

‘The Light in the Dark’ details the reality that life can often present with challenges and frustrations that are difficult to comprehend, and guides readers on how to navigate through these hardships and become successful, despite the challenges they may be faced with.

Meanwhile, ‘Side Cheque’ advises on the need for financial independence and ways to make extra income.

Mr Appiah, who launched the books at the Dreamers Conference 2023 in Accra last Saturday, explained that his outfit sought to empower generations to live up to their dreams.

The conference was on the theme “MOTIVUS” and provided valuable insights and networking opportunities to equip attendees with the tools to overcome challenges, achieve their dreams and succeed in various areas of life.

“The Dreamers conference is about financial empowerment, digital innovation and entrepreneurship.

“Dream Focus seeks to empower generations, encourage and energise them to live their dreams. By living their dreams, they need to be empowered to take up entrepreneurship to meet their expectations,” he said.

He explained that his books provided strategies that individuals, especially the youth, could make the most out of in overcoming difficult situations to have a fulfilled life.

He encouraged young ones to utilise their talents to get multiple incomes during these difficult times, adding that “the youth should not remain comfortable but be creative and make a positive impact in the society.

“Everything is possible if you put your mind to it; so keep pushing and do innovative things that will bring you fulfilment in life,” Mr Appiah added.

Invest in reading

The Director of Innovation at the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), David A. Ofori, said the conference was timely because it created a platform for young people to hear true life stories and get to see that their struggles are not peculiar.

He advised Ghanaians to prioritise reading books over excessive use of social media to gain more knowledge and be well-informed in society.

“Spending a lot of time on social media is all part of reading. So why don't we invest a bit of that time in reading a book?” he quizzed.
