Ho club wins Asogli Festival tennis
The Ho Tennis Club has won the 2015 Asogli Yam Festival Tennis Tournament after surmounting a stiff competition from two other visiting clubs.
The teams are the Maritime Tennis Club from Accra and the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) Tennis Club.
The day’s event which was sponsored by Stanbic Bank as part of activities marking the festival and also to promote the sport in the area witnessed the Ho Tennis Club winning six out of nine games played to lift the decorated Stanbic- Asogli Yam Festival Trophy.
Maritime Tennis Club from Accra won two games with TOR Tennis Club from Tema winning a game.

Presenting a cheque for GH¢10, 000 to the winners, Mr Kojo Akoi-Larbi, Manager, Communications, Stanbic Bank, said the bank was proud to be associated with Asogli Yam Festival and the Tennis Tournament.
“When people are healthy and happy, we at Stanbic are happy, so we are happy to be here and will continue to support sporting activities in the country,” he noted and said the “Stanbic Bank believed in contributing to the society from whom the bank derived the mandate to do its business”.
Mr Victus Horlu, Secretary, Ho Tennis Court, for his part, said the high patronage of the tournament was an indication that Tennis was no longer for the elite in society as many perceived.
