UniBank gives Black Stars GH¢400,000 boost
The official bank of the Black Stars, UniBank, has presented $400,000, representing the final tranche of a three-year sponsorship of $1.2m to the senior national team.
The Head of Business Execution Department of the Bank, Richard Osei Anane, presented a dummy cheque to players and officials of the team at their Golden Tulip Hotel camp in Kumasi last Monday and said the gesture was to assure the players of the bank’s support and readiness to back them when they qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
UniBank signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Black Stars in 2013 and promised to pay $400,000 each year.
It had fulfilled the last two traånches and last Monday’s presentation brought the bank closer to the end of the deal.
