Queens back with victory
Ghana's Black Queens, the senior national female football team, returned from Namibia last Wednesday after engaging their Namibian counterparts in two international friendlies.
The matches played last Saturday and Tuesday were part of the Namibia’s independence anniversary celebrations as well as serving as as preparations for the Namibians, who will host this year’s African Women’s Championship (AWC).

Samira Suleman scored a brace, while Agnes Aduako scored the third goal in the 3-1 win in the first game. Portia Boakye also scored twice, with a third from Aduako, as the Queens cruised to a 3-0 win in the second game.
Coach Yussuf Basigi, who led the team to Namibia, said the exercise was useful for the team as they also prepared to play their final AWC qualifier against Ethiopia in May.
