In a statement, the GBA stated that the rescheduling had become necessary to ensure a "fair and transparent selection process" for the four best boxers to participate in Fight Night 19, the crucial penultimate round of the league on Saturday at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Consequently, the curtains will draw on the competition on January 6, 2024 instead of the original December 26 (Boxing Day) date for Fight Night 20 at which the overall winning team will be determined.

After the 18th week, the Charles Quartey Boxing Federation (C.Q.B.F.) sit top of the league log with 46 points from 15 wins, one draw and two losses, but they face strong competition from the security services teams, Ghana Armed Forces (44 points) and third-placed Ghana Prisons Service (42 points). The three teams have the best chance of winning the top prize and will go into the next two competitions keyed up to secure wins and valuable points to emerge triumphant on January 6.

Two of Ghana's most successful gyms, Akotoku Academy and Attoh Quarshie Gym will face-off in an outstanding clash.

At the bottom of the table is Seconds Out Gym which has won just one out of 18 fights and has just three points.
