Ghana Amputee League Clubs Association congratulates the National Amputee soccer team
The Ghana Amputee League Clubs Association (GALCA) has congratulated the Ghana’s Amputee Men’s Football Team, Black Challenge, on winning this year’s Cup of African Nations Amputee Football (CANAF), held in Tanzania.
The Black Challenge started the tournament with a big opening day 3-0 win over Egypt before thrashing Nigeria a 4-0. They secured a slot to face Angola in the semi-finals.
The recorded an impressive 3-1 win against Angola, hence qualifying to the finals against their West Africa neighbours, Liberia.
The Black Challenge won their final match against Liberia in a 3-2 scores, lifting the coveted trophy.
In a statement, the Chairman of the GALCA, Bawa Sambian Abdalla, said “Although the competition was tuff and stiff, you proved yourselves winners, congratulations.”
For him, “We also want to use this opportunity to officially thank and appreciate Hon. Mustapha Ussif and the Youth and Sports Ministry for the timely intervention in airlifting our gallant heroes back home.”
Mr Abdalla also called on the government, the Sports Ministry and the public to support the team as they have qualified to play in the World Amputee Cup Tournament slated for Turkey in October, 2022.
