FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup: Black Maidens stun USA 2-1
The national U-17 women's team, the Black Maidens recovered from an opening day loss to Japan by coming from behind to stun their counterparts from the USA 2-1 in the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Jordan.
The Maidens went behind in the fifth minute when Franki Tagliaferri put the Americans ahead.
They recovered from the early set-back to dominate the latter stages of the game but were let down by errant shooting in the final third.
The Maidens returned rejuvenated after the break perhaps roused by a stern team talk issued at recess by coach Evans Adotey.

They got their just reward in the 63rd minute when a cross to the far post eluded USA goalie Kazya Massey leaving Gifty Acheampong with the simple task of nodding home into an empty net.
Skipper Sandra Owusu Ansah completed the memorable comeback with only six minutes remaining when she converted a penalty.
The result left Ghana tied on three points with leaders Japan and USA after two games. Japan face Paraguay later tonight in their second game.
