Brobbey in Ashanti hockey goal-king race

Adu Gyamfi Brobbey of the Royals Hockey Club in Kumasi scored a classic goal to move to the second spot with five goals in the Ashanti regional hockey goal king chart.

Brobbey and Michael Dei Ampofo scored both goals as Royals defeated Bibiani 2-0 in last Saturday’s league game on a grassless turf behind the Baba Yara Stadium.

It was one of the worst performances by the Bibiani team, who appeared tired after travelling over a long distance to honour the match.

They now occupy the last but one position in the five-club league, but the sole financier of the club, Castro Osei Akoto, has promised his boys will bounce back.

Bibiani may have slumped to the fourth position but their lead striker, Boadu, leads the goal king race with six goals, making it a straight fight between him and Brobbey.
