Awareness dismisses Treatment to win Polo trophy

A thrilling polo encounter between “Awareness” and “ Treatment” over the weekend climaxed the season’s year-long interesting polo activities.

The match  was not only well attended by fans, but was also full of action. 

The encounter ­ was meant to create awareness about breast cancer  among the citizenry that the disease could be treated if it was reported on time.

During the match, “Awareness proved too tough to their opponents and succeeded in dismissing them  7-5 to lift the  giant trophy  at stake.

In an address,the President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA) and captain of the Accra Polo Club,  Mr Kwakye Dopoah-Dei, commended polo players from Argentina, South Africa, Nigeria and Egypt  for staying in the country  during the season to play with their counterparts in Ghana.

He said their presence did not only add colour to the game, but also made it more competitive and attractive .He announced that the field  would be closed during  the off-season to enable them to vaccinate the horses .

This, he said, would enable  them to check the risk of African Horse diseases. He also took the opportunity to praise  Vodafone for their support during the season.
