Active players of the Blacks Loopers, former national players, and Under-20 female national team players gathered at the Seven Great Princes Academy in Dansoman, Accra, for the highly anticipated annual Dansoman Ping Pong Lovers Smash.

Organized by the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the one-day competition showcased thrilling table tennis brilliance and strategic wits.

The event attracted a substantial turnout of table tennis enthusiasts, fans, and participants, creating an atmosphere of excitement and competition throughout the day. In a surprising turn of events, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament, actively joined the competition, demonstrating her table tennis skills to the admiration of all present.

As the competition intensified, the men's singles final featured a gripping battle between Godwin Alabi of the Black Loopers and Francis Antwi. In the best-of-five sets, Godwin Alabi emerged victorious with a 3-1 score (10-6, 10-7, 10-8, 11-9), securing the trophy and an undisclosed cash prize. Prince Asare claimed the bronze by defeating Michael Yeboah with a 3-2 score.

The Under-20 women's singles category witnessed Joanita Borteye's dominance as she beat Blessing Labanti 3-0, clinching the trophy and an undisclosed cash prize. Gloria Adepa Koomson secured the bronze by defeating Mary Naa Borkor with a 3-1 score.

In the veterans category, Dr. Alex Ackon showcased his skills, beating Mr. Richard Laryea 2-0 in the best-of-three sets to secure the trophy and an undisclosed cash prize. Mr. Samuel Dei claimed the third position.

Mr. Theophilus Alexis Oyortey, the first vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party at Ablekuma West, conveyed his appreciation on behalf of the MP, praising the competitors for their grit and tenacity. He highlighted that the competition aimed to unite the youth in the community, emphasizing the importance of taking sports seriously and developing sporting skills for potential careers.
