Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has confirmed he has been penciled to be the next vice president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), but he must wait to go through the process of endorsement  by the Executive Committee on April 11.

Nyantakyi , in an interview with the Graphic Sports yesterday, said the new president of CAF, Ahmad Ahmad, had spoken to him at length about his intention to put him up for endorsement as his vice president, an offer the GFA president said, he had accepted.

The Ghana Triathlon Federation (GTF), has secured a four year sponsorship deal worth $200,000 from Kempinski Hotel and Promasidor Ghana Limited, to support their activities and the administration of the Federation.

Carlton Cole will reunite with his former Chelsea teammate Michael Essien after signing a one-year deal with Indonesia Super League club Persib Bandung.

Cole, 33, spent 14 seasons in the Premier League, including nine years with West Ham United, last played for American second-tier team Sacramento Republic in 2016.

Cameroon's Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach Hugo Broos has threatened to quit over management and funding problems in the national team set-up.

Broos, who led the team to the trophy in Gabon in February, said he is "seriously considering whether I should continue or not".
