
Local Black Stars lose to Japan U-23

The home-based Black Stars of Ghana lost 3-0 to Japan’s U-23 team in an international friendly played last Wednesday at the Best Amenity Stadium in Japan.
The match was used to raise funds for victims of the Kumamoto earthquakes which occured last month.
It also served as a preparatory exercise for the Japanese ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.
Ghana’s squad had goalie Richard Ofori in post, Amos Frimpong, Bashir Abdul, Kadri Mohammed and Abdul Ganiu Ismail in defence, Saban Laryea, Samuel Tetteh, Gockel Ahortor and Latif Blessing in midfield and Sadick Adams and Richard Arthur in attack.
