Hearts drop points at home
Tema- based Inter Allies yesterday failed to lift themselves from the relegation zone when they gifted a clueless Accra Hearts of Oak a point in their crucial Premier League match which ended 1-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Inter Allies’ Ropapa Mensah had silenced the sparse home crowd with a 41st minute goal, and were in control of the game until the 83rd minute when goalkeeper Osei Kwame miscalculated a cross from Ashietey Ollenu and Inusah Musah sneaked behind him to connect for the much-awaited equaliser to the relief of the Hearts supporters who responded with loud cheers.
Hearts, who before the encounter were third on the log with 41 points, needed the three points badly to stay in contention for the trophy but they looked very ordinary when it mattered most and found it difficult to string their passes together.
The visitors’ midfielders Isaac Twum, Kporvie Uriah and Prince Baffoe took advantage of Hearts ineffectiveness in midfield to dictate the pace for a greater part of the game.

The tide, however, swang when Hearts Coach, Sergio Traguil, brought on Ollenu Ashietey, Paul Acquah and Morcou Badu. Ollenu and Acquah then took the game to the visitors, and in one of their surges Ollennu released a volley for Inusah Musah to outsmart their opponents in the air to score minutes after Inter Allies’ Frederick Boateng had been sent off for a second bookable offence.
