Dreams upset Liberty
A 78th minute goal by veteran Eric Gawu yesterday gave Dreams FC a 1-0 win over a 10-man Liberty Professionals in their Week 19 fixture at the Carl Reindorf Park at Dansoman.
Liberty’s Emmanuel Antwi was shown the exit in the second half for a second bookable offence.
It was skilful Abdul Bashir, who forced goalie Stephen Kwaku to desert his post in search of the ball with his brilliant run which Gawu capitalised on to slot in the only goal of the match.
The rejuvenated Dreams FC came into the game connecting with beautiful passes as they denied the homesters every opportunity to grab the equaliser.

The combination of Abeiku Ainooson, Aaron Amoah, Emmanuel Ayison and Emmanuel Elikeke frustrated Liberty’s scoring duo of Latif Blessing and Kennedy Ashia, who put up a strong fight but could not fetch the equaliser.
Before recess, Liberty overpowered the visitors in the midfield as they created several chances but could not convert the opportunities as the experienced Philemon McCarthy denied them with some wonderful saves.
On one of such occasions, goalie McCarthy, who came out the post and was beaten, in a dramatic fashion, bounced back to deny striker Latif Blessing from scoring the equaliser.
