The Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold SC, Mr Kudjoe Fianoo, has promised that the Miners will stage a big comeback in the upcoming season.

Mr Fianoo stated that the club is bent on finishing on a high this time after finishing in a disappointing 11th position in the past season.

Ashantigold endured one of the poorest title defences in the top flight history last term to the displeasure of their fans.

The club's poor campaign led to supporters’ agitation for the sacking of Coach Bashir Hayford who had won the title with the club the previous season.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic on the sidelines of the club’s unveiling of new kit for the upcoming season, Mr Fianoo said, "Our main target for the season is to finish in the top four of the Premier League."

"We want to make amends for our poor performance last season by finishing on a high this time.”

Talking about preparations for the campaign ahead, Mr Fianoo noted that the Miners had begun intensive pre-season training to help them achieve their target at the end of the season.
