Appiah vows to deal with indiscipline
Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, has declared that player indiscipline in the senior national team will never happen again so long as he remains in charge.
He believes that the indefinite suspension of Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng from the team will serve as a deterrent for other players as he continues with his new two-year contract.
“As to lessons learnt, I have had meetings with management and I'm 100 per cent sure that once I'm in charge of the team certain things will never happen again!,” the soft-spoken Appiah stated at a post-match press conference yesterday.
Asked why he decided to suspend the two players on the morning of the match, the Stars coach said the decision was actually taken a day before yesterday's game against Portugal and was communicated to them the following morning.

''If you want to build a team and instil discipline it is always important that you set things right so they don't affect the team in future,” Coach Appiah said.
He appealed to Ghanaians to keep believing in the team despite failing to qualify for the second round since the Stars comprised a bunch of talented youngsters who needed time to develop into a great side in the future.
“Ghanaians love football just like Brazilians so they would have loved to see their country go to the next stage, but it's just unfortunate things went this way.
“The good thing is that I believe the performance wasn't that bad just that we failed to take our opportunities to cross this stage,” he stated.
“Many of these players are young talents we are building for the future so we can't be perfect in all departments. But I have learnt a lot and believe that they have also learnt some things on and off the pitch and will try to learn from their mistakes,” Appiah noted.
“In the 2006 and 2010 World Cups there were no money issues because they were paid before the competition but this time that was not the situation. And for players, if they play one, two games and they realise that monies are not coming as expected they will react and that was what really happened,” he recalled rather regrettably.
