Former World champion Nana Yaw Konadu joins Gameboy's camp
Three weeks to the much- anticipated boxing bout between Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe (26-1, 13 KO’s) and Argentine David Saucedo, (60-6-3, 10 KO’s), one of the nation’s finest boxers, has joined the camp of the Ghanaian.
Marvellous Nana Yaw Konadu Yeboah has taken the job as the assistant trainer of the 29-year-old fighter popularly referred to as Gameboy.
Nana Konadu told the Graphic Sports in an interview that he wanted to bring his vast and rich experience to bear on the young fighter for him to emerge victorious after the fight with the Argentine.
Tahoe trainer, Sulleymanu Martey Korley, told the Graphic Sports that Konadu’s decision to pitch camp with his boxer was a welcome news.
“ It is good for team Tagoe to have such an illustrious boxing trainer like Nana Yaw Konadu in our corner” he said, adding that, “he was a great fighter during his time and he has a lot of experience which can enrich Tagoe’s expertise in any bout”.
For his part, the CEO of Baby Jet Pomotions, Samuel Anim, said they were delighted to have the Marvelous One as Tagoe’s assistant trainer.
He noted that the Bukom-born boxer needed many of such experienced personalities in an epic world title fight like the upcoming bout , scheduled for November 25 at the new boxing gymnasium at Bukom in Accra.
