Kenya's Jemima Sumgong won the women's London Marathon yesterday , despite falling earlier in the race. Sumgong wiped out a mile 22 near a drink station and bumped her head.
Witnesses, however, noted how quickly she recovered from the stumble, even though she must have been in pain but finished in two hours, 22 minutes and 58 seconds.
Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge, the favourite, won the men's race with the second-fastest time in history. He finished in two hours, three minutes, and five seconds, missing the world record by just seven seconds. — BBC
