THE Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has described the death of Highlife artiste Kofi Bee, as a huge loss to the entire nation.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, February 5 and signed by acting MUSIGA President, Bessa Simons, the Union expressed its condolences to the late musician's family.
The Union described Kofi Bee as a refreshing exponent of Highlife music who gave hope that the genre was not dead adding that his entry into the industry and his hit songs have boosted the genre.
MUSIGA said it shared in the pain of the family and also assured them of its support.
Kofi Bee died on Sunday morning hours before he was due to perform at a concert in Cape Coast. He was rushed to the hospital by his colleague musician and friend, Kofi Nti - who was also scheduled to perform - after he complained of chest pains.

MUSIGA MOURNS KOFI BEE
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) expresses its deepest condolences to the family of Kofi Bee following his untimely demise on Sunday morning.
Kofi Bee was one of the refreshing exponents of highlife music who gave many music and particularly, highlife lovers hope that the genre is not dead. Indeed, it goes without saying that Kofi Bee’s entry onto the music scene and hit songs have been a boost to the genre. His thoughtful lyrics and soothing grooves will certainly be missed.
As the family and the whole nation mourns Kofi, MUSIGA would like to console the immediate family and assure them that Kofi Bee is in the bosom of our Almighty Maker and has joined the celestial host in extolling the praises of the Most High in the heavenly realms.
Kofi Bee’s passing is without a doubt a huge loss not only to the family and the Union but the entire nation. Ghana has doubtlessly lost a great son.
We will like to assure the family of the emotional support of the Union in these trying moments and share their pain.
