I don’t lie – Ursula Owusu replies Captain Smart

COMMUNICATIONS Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has reacted to accusations made against her by Adom FM morning show host, Captain Smart over a virtual concert held as part of the launch of the COVID-19 Tracker app.

The Minister was accused by Captain Smart of paying artistes who took part in the virtual concert huge sums of money.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 22, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful said she was not a liar.

"Someone should please tell Captain Smart that I return his curses on me to sender. He and his family will suffer, not me. I don’t lie and for those who find it hard to believe or are hard of hearing, let me repeat it again," she wrote.

On Monday, April 13, the Ministry of Communications launched the COVID-19 Tracker app. It was followed by a virtual concert which saw performances from some of the country's finest musicians including Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene, Dada KD, Great Ampong, Diana Asamoah, Lucky Mensah, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, and Fancy Gadam.

Since the concert was held, speculation has been rife about whether the artistes took money to perform. On his show, Dwaso Nsem Captain Smart went on a rant, calling out all those involved in the event and cursed them for taking advantage of the country's situation.

He claimed he had evidence that the artistes were indeed paid but in her response Ursula Owusu-Ekuful said she didn't receive an invoice from anyone to pay for the services of any of the artistes.

GOVERNMENT OF GHANA DID NOT PAY A PESEWA TO ANYONE FOR EITHER THE COVID 19 TRACKER APP OR THE VIRTUAL CONCERT TO LAUNCH IT.

I don’t know what he ate, drank or smoked but I have not received any money from anyone for this or been given any invoice to pay. There is no nokofio on my watch. Chew on it.

By the way, the app has been approved for download on both the App Store and play store. Apple device users can now download it, answer the simple questions and provide their addresses and phone numbers to help the Ghana Health Service track, trace, test and treat suspected cases of Covid 19 expeditiously with digital technology.

IT IS DIGITIME IN GHANA AND TIME FOR DIGICARE!!
