United Cadres Front salutes members to mark June 4

The Eastern Regional branch of the United Cadres Front (UCF) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended its congratulations to all UCF members and the government on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the June 4 revolution.

It said for their dedication, loyalty and continued support towards the ideals of the revolution, all cadres and the government deserved congratulation.

It further extended its gratitude to President John Mahama, former President Jerry John Rawlings and all members of the NDC fraternity for their steadfastness towards improving the social and economic life of all Ghanaians.

In a statement jointly signed by Messrs. Richard Ansong and Jonathan Kwao – Sabah, Chairman and Secretary respectively of the UCF, they called on all cadres, NDC party activists, the government and all Ghanaians to not lose hope because of the current economic challenges facing the global world, including Ghana.

“We are of the firm belief that there will be a positive turnaround and Ghanaians under the NDC government will very soon start enjoying the fruits of the economic policies being pursued by the government,” the statement added.

The UCF was of the view that the ideals of the revolution remained relevant in the nation’s body politic, which espouses probity, accountability and transparency.

“We finally salute all our fallen heroes, including Comrade P. V. Obeng”, said the statement.

On June 4,1979, junior officers led by Flight Lieutenant J. J. Rawlings overthrew the Supreme Military Council and established the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council.
