PPP organises town hall meeting at KEEA
The KEEA constituency branch of the Progressive People’s Party has organised the second of its innovative community town hall meetings in the Agona Abrem traditional area.
Dubbed “The PPP People's Forum”, the theme was on "socio-economic development in KEEA."
According to the Constituency Chairman, Mr Badu Tenteh, party members and the general public from Abrem, Eguafo and Ataabadze areas attended the meeting last Saturday.
The first one was held a few weeks ago and won many converts.
Mr Tenteh said the idea behind the PPP forum was to keep the PPP fresh in the minds of the people.
The meetings are held to discuss problems facing KEEA and Ghana and to find solutions to them.
While the party is showing its true national colours as not just being there for election, it has its eyes firmly on the 2016 electios as well, Mr Tenteh declared.
He said the PPP was working hard to win the KEEA parliamentary seat and was also putting back together the broad organisation that helped Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom to win the seat in 2004.
“Potential candidates have been making this known to PPP polling executives”, he disclosed.
The 2012 PPP parliamentary candidate, Dorothy Manieson, has declared her intention to contest the seat again. Another aspirant, John Sterlin, who has been eyeing the KEEA seat for eight years, is also actively working for support.
PPP will hold its primary election to select a candidate for the KEEA seat in December this year.
