Obour donates to Asante Akyem South Health Directorate
Former MUSIGA President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Asante Akyem South Constituency, Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) has donated some items and an amount of GHC ₵5,000 to the Asante Akyem South Municipal Health Directorate at Juaso.
The presentation was done with the family of his late father, Nana Osei Boansi Kuffour and the Christiana Addo Memorial Foundation (CAMF). The items included 100 Veronica buckets, 2,000 bottles of hand sanitizers, 20 packs of tissue paper and 5,000 pieces of nose masks.
The donation is to help the directorate’s Covid-19 response operations.
In brief remarks at the presentation, Obour said, “Not all citizens can afford hand sanitizers but the constant washing of the hands with soap and running water is the most affordable option…. I am therefore appealing to citizens of Juaso and its environs to take the washing of your hands seriously. I also encourage you to wear your nose masks and wash and iron them after every day’s use.”
The aspiring candidate also called on residents to heed to the directives by President Akufo-Addo in terms of social distancing and all other protocols.
The Municipal Health Director for Asante Akyem, Ruben Osei Antwi applauded the residents for obeying the President’s directives.
He noted that COVID 19 is real and does not differentiate between the rich or the poor.
He also emphasized the need to respect the various measures announced to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and cautioned them to continuously practice social distancing since this will help prevent the spread of the virus.
