NDC grateful to mourners of two women’s organisers

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed gratitude to its supporters and sympathisers who mourned with the party during the funeral rites of the two deputy women’s organisers who died in a car crash.

“The NDC members’ show of solidarity during this mourning period, especially at the burial of Hajia Adiza Sali, the deputy women’s organiser, in accordance with Islamic tradition needs commendation.

“We call on the members to continue to show love and support to the family of our beloved departed sister Hajia Sali,” Mr Kobina Ade Coker, Greater Accra Regional NDC Chairman, told the Ghana News Agency  in Accra.

Two deputy women’s organisers of the governing NDC for the Greater Accra and Volta regions respectively died in a road accident on Saturday, April 27.

Hajia Sali and Agnes Tia died on the spot when the vehicle they were travelling on collided with a Yutong bus on the Kintampo-Kumasi road.

The Greater Accra Regional Women's Organiser, Vivian Ankrah, who was also travelling on the same vehicle, is in critical condition at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

The NDC executive members were returning from the funeral of a sister of the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, when the accident occurred.

Mr Ade Coker noted the need for party unity and solidarity, especially in such difficult times, saying “we are a family and must continue to work and support one another at all times”. - GNA
