Lithur’s assertion is total fabrication - Agyarko
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Campaign Manager for the 2012 Elections, Mr Boakye Agyarko, has described as total fabrication a statement attributed to him as endorsing the conduct of the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections.
“People have to listen to the tape recordings, and the statement I made is available. It contains nothing of that sort,” he told the Daily Graphic in a telephone chat.
"I did not use those words so the National Democratic Congress in typical fashion is concocting words. I never said those things," he maintained.
Mr Tony Lithur, the lead Lawyer for President John Dramani Mahama, on Tuesday relied on the comments he claimed were made by Mr Agyarko during the 2012 polls. He was cross-examining the New Patriotic Party 2012 running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the star witness for the petitioners in the ongoing election petition challenge at the Supreme Court.

Mr Lithur told the Supreme Court that Mr Agyako attested to the flawless nature of the elections; a position which contradicts the party’s current posture that the poll was riddled with irregularities.
It was aimed at discrediting Dr Bawumia’s claims of over-voting.
“I am ready to testify in the ongoing election petition hearing to challenge claims by Mr Lithur that I endorsed the conduct of the polls as flawless,” Mr Agyarko insisted.
Denying the statements attributed to him, Mr Agyarko declared he was ready to testify at the Supreme Court to clear his name.
“Let me emphatically state that in the statement I issued and the following comments, at no point did I say that this is the cleanest elections or this is the fairest elections or this is the most transparent elections,” Mr Agyarko pointed out..
Meanwhile, the cross-examination of Dr Bawumia by Mr Lithur continued yesterday at the Supreme Court.
